so here is a blog

I am studying abroad for a year in Ecuador and was asked by some friends to make a blog.  

It seems like fun, and it is always good to have a project.

I can only hope life is exciting enough to warrant a blog.   

It is now Friday.  I leave at 7:20 am on Monday, September 1st.  I am bringing everything in an Osprey Luna S70 Backpack.  "Designed for small women carrying heavy loads."  Sorry, but I find that to be a hilarious tag-line for a backpack.
